Eight Palestinians Killed in Gaza Amid Ongoing Ceasefire Breaches
Israeli forces struck a civilian transport vehicle in Gaza City, killing five and wounding 15, part of a series of cease-fire violations a year after the truce was signed.
On Wednesday, an Israeli missile struck a civilian transport vehicle in Gaza City's Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood, killing five and wounding 15, among them women and children. The target was a cart attached to a minibus used for passenger travel amid severe fuel shortages, and it was hit during a crowded period, said ambulance officer Mothe Ayoub, who was among the first on the scene. A nearby bus was also damaged, leaving additional passengers injured.
In separate raids on Gaza City and Khan Younis, three more Palestinians were killed, raising the day's total to eight. Israeli officials say the cease-fire signed in October last year is being breached repeatedly, with near-daily strikes and tight restrictions on aid and goods. Since the truce, Israeli forces have killed at least 1,430 Palestinians, including over 300 children, and the overall conflict has caused more than 74,000 Palestinian deaths since October 2023.
