Eight right-wing members linked to assault over girl's shorts at Pune fort

Police filed a case against eight members of a right-wing group after a man was allegedly assaulted during a dispute over a girl wearing shorts at Sinhagad Fort near Pune.

At Sinhagad Fort near Pune, a disagreement over a young girl's shorts escalated into an alleged assault on a man and his family near the Tanaji Malusare samadhi. Police say the right-wing outfit's members questioned the family's clothing and their photographing of the site, then asked them to leave. The complainant reports being slapped and his wife being pulled by a woman, and notes that another couple was also subjected to moral policing.

An FIR has been registered against eight participants, three of whom are women. Investigators have launched a search to apprehend the accused, and the probe remains ongoing. Similar complaints have been received from visitors on the preceding day.
