Eight suspected militants killed and a peace force member slain in Dera Bugti clash
A clash between the Bugti Peace Force and suspected militants in Dera Bugti left eight attackers dead, one peace-force member killed and three injured, while a tribal leader was shot dead in Khuzdar.
Police say the Bugti Peace Force, a pro-government tribal militia, confronted heavily armed attackers in the Loti area of Dera Bugti district, defending the district council chairman Ghulam Nabi Shambani and a nearby gas-company camp. The hour-long exchange, which involved rockets, left eight suspected terrorists dead and seven captured; the bodies were taken to Loti hospital. During the fighting, peace-force member Fazal Khan was killed and three others sustained injuries requiring hospital care.
In a separate incident in Naal, Khuzdar district, tribal leader Ghulam Nabi Siyahpad was killed by gunmen on motorcycles, and unidentified shooters opened fire on the residence of National Party central leader Sardar Muhammad Aslam Bizenjo, injuring one of his guards. No group has claimed responsibility, and investigations are ongoing.
