Eight-year-old boy fatally crushed by tipping telehandler in Upper Austria

An eight-year-old boy died on Sunday morning in Haibach im Mühlkreis after a telehandler tipped over while he and his father were operating it.

The child was on a telehandler with his father when they attempted to fell a decayed tree around 9:00 a.m. The machine became unstable and toppled, crushing the boy. The father escaped with minor injuries. Police confirmed the incident and a crisis-intervention team was dispatched to support the family.
