Dry conditions linked to El Niño have caused an estimated P173.69 million in agricultural damage in Bohol, affecting thousands of farmers.
The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist reports that the drought has resulted in P173.69 million of losses across 24 municipalities and one city in Bohol. A total of 6,676 farmers are reported to be impacted by the shortfall. The assessment covers roughly half of the province’s agricultural areas. Local officials are seeking ways to alleviate the strain on the farming community.
