Elderly British driver killed and companion injured in car overturn on Evia

In the early hours of Monday, a vehicle carrying two British women, aged 82 and 84, left the roadway and rolled over on a private stretch near Limni, a seaside town on Evia. First responders, including fire and ambulance teams from the Mantoudio Health Center, arrived quickly and discovered the car upside down. The 82-year-old woman was pronounced dead on impact, and the 84-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to the General Hospital of Chalkida for treatment.
Police have begun a preliminary inquiry to determine why the car veered off course and who was driving. The incident highlights the risks of narrow, cobblestone streets in the region. Authorities have not yet released further details about the investigation.
