Elderly man fatally stabbed in Lucknow road clash, grandson wounded

While traveling on a motorcycle to settle an electricity bill, Madan Bihari Tiwari, 70, and his 19-year-old grandson Sankalp Tiwari were involved in a collision with a pedestrian outside a country-liquor shop on Sitapur Road, Lucknow. The incident sparked a verbal dispute that escalated when a man, identified by locals as Raj Kumar alias Malai, produced a knife and attacked the pair. Madan Bihari sustained multiple chest and abdominal wounds and died during treatment at KGMU Trauma Centre; Sankalp remains in serious condition.

Their son Pradeep reported the attack and called for strict action. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Naveen Kumar Singh confirmed an FIR has been filed and two police teams are pursuing the alleged attacker, who is believed to be staying near Markandey Dharamshala in Keshav Nagar. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering further evidence.
