Elderly Woman Fatally Stabbed in Bondi Flat, Suspect Arrested by Police
A woman in her 90s was stabbed to death in a Bondi apartment, and a 47-year-old man believed to know her was taken into custody.
Around 5.15 pm on Saturday, officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were dispatched to a residence on Chambers Avenue in Bondi after reports of a stabbing. Paramedics from NSW Ambulance attended and found a woman in her 90s with severe injuries; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrested a 47-year-old male suspect, who is believed to have known the victim, and moved him to Surry Hills police station.
A crime scene has been secured and detectives are now probing the circumstances of the attack. Authorities have asked anyone with relevant details to contact Crime Stoppers. The investigation remains ongoing.
