Elderly woman robbed after being sold a supposed miracle ointment

A man who offered a senior a so-called miracle ointment stole cash from her at an ATM and also took money from her purse.

During the second half of July, a man presented an elderly woman with a purported cure for joint ailments and persuaded her to purchase the product. He escorted her to a local ATM, where she withdrew the amount she intended to spend. According to police spokesperson Jakub Kopřiva, the man exploited her advanced age and physical limitations, taking the cash directly from her hand without consent and also removing extra money from the purse she was holding.

The theft resulted in a financial loss for the senior citizen. Investigators suspect the suspect may have defrauded additional individuals with similar offers and have urged anyone approached with such claims to report the matter via a free hotline. The case is being pursued on suspicion of theft.
