Election Commission denies internal dissent, says all decisions were unanimous

The Election Commission dismissed a recent investigation that claimed commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi lodged fourteen objections to decisions made in the commission’s name over a ten-month period. According to commission sources, every decision, from procedural changes to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, was taken with the unanimous approval of both commissioners and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The disputed matters included a proposed amendment to Form 6 for new voters, the gradual centralisation of the ERONet database in Delhi, appeals concerning voter deletions in West Bengal, and a software glitch that prevented 97 eligible voters in Goa from being added to the final roll. While the earlier report suggested the commissioners flagged these actions as unauthorized, the commission maintains that all actions were fully authorized and documented.
