Election commission reports five parties poised to win seats in Russia's State Duma

The Central Election Commission released partial results covering 36.87% of precincts in the State Duma election. United Russia topped the federal party list with 57.19% of the vote, while the Communist Party came second at 13.85%. The Liberal Democratic Party earned 9.16%, New People 8.01%, and A Just Russia just passed the 5% barrier with 5.23%. Earlier data showed United Russia candidates ahead in 161 of the 225 single-mandate districts. The 450-seat lower house is filled half by party-list votes and half by district winners, and five parties are now on track to secure representation.
