Electric Brewing Company shuts doors after twelve years, future plans uncertain

Electric Brewing Company, which opened its doors in 2014 and became known for IPAs, stouts and experimental brews, announced on Instagram that it must close sooner than planned due to factors beyond its control. The announcement noted that the premises will soon house a different brewery, but the company will keep its name, recipes, branding and other intellectual assets, leaving open the possibility of reopening later.

Owners asked patrons not to remove branded items without consent, emphasizing that souvenirs should carry a story and the brewery’s blessing. Community comments expressed sadness and appreciation for the brewery’s contribution to the local beer scene. The shutdown coincides with large-scale layoffs at Stone Brewing, which is being sold to Firestone Walker Brewing Company and Duvel Moortgat USA, with hundreds of workers slated to lose their jobs.
