Eleven firearms including AK-47s stolen from Secunderabad Cantonment’s high-security armory
Unknown thieves took 11 weapons, among them an AK-47 and pistols, from the Secunderabad Cantonment area on Sunday night, prompting a police case.
A theft of 11 weapons, comprising an AK-47 and multiple pistols, occurred in the Secunderabad Cantonment’s high-security military sector on Sunday night. Army staff filed a complaint, after which Bollaram police opened a case. The missing arms prompted army officials to seal the zone and launch an investigation that has so far pointed to potential insider involvement.
Queries are being directed at personnel connected to the wing, which is jointly accessed by army members and civilian outsourcing staff. Guard shifts were thin when the breach happened, and the method used to transport the weapons out of the cantonment remains unclear. Both army investigators and Malkajgiri police are cooperating on the probe.
