Eleven Power awarded 25-year parallel electricity licence for Gurugram and Nuh

The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission approved a 25-year parallel distribution licence for Eleven Power in the Gurugram and Nuh districts, giving over 830,000 consumers a second supplier option.

The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued a 25-year parallel distribution licence to Eleven Power Pvt Ltd for the Gurugram and Nuh revenue districts, marking the first such licence in the state. More than 830,000 electricity users—including residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial customers—will be able to choose between two distributors as Eleven Power builds its network. The company pledged a ₹4,717 crore investment, to be rolled out in phases from 2026-27 through 2030-31, with supply expected to begin in the 2027-28 fiscal year.

Under the licence, tariffs will be regulated by HERC, and Eleven Power will procure 80% of its power from renewable sources and the remaining 20% from thermal generation for base-load stability. A detailed rollout plan and a protocol for consumers wishing to switch suppliers will be submitted to the commission. The move follows a similar parallel-licence model already in use in Mumbai.
