Ella Langley tops 2026 CMA nominations with nine nods, edging close to record

Ella Langley leads the 2026 Country Music Association nominations with nine categories, just one short of Alan Jackson's all-time record.

The Country Music Association released its 2026 nomination list, and Ella Langley emerged as the most-nominated artist with nine categories, narrowly missing Alan Jackson's 2002 record of ten. Her nominations span the top entertainer award—her first appearance in that category—alongside several song and album recognitions. Miranda Lambert earned seven nominations, four of which honor her contributions as a songwriter and producer on Langley's recordings.

Kacey Musgraves and Ben West each secured five nominations, while Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Stephen Wilson Jr. received four. Lainey Wilson, the defending entertainer-of-the-year, also garnered a nomination and will host the telecast for the third year in a row. Morgan Wallen, last year's winner, appears only in two collaborative categories, reflecting the eligibility window for his recent releases.

Why it matters

The nominations highlight shifting power dynamics in country music, with Ella Langley poised as a breakout star.
