The base will host two operational squadrons and the Formal Training Unit for the B-21 fleet, potentially expanding to a third squadron if the program grows. The facility’s economic impact is significant, supporting thousands of jobs and generating nearly $886.8 million annually for South Dakota.
Northrop Grumman has opened a new office in Rapid City’s Innovation District, and Elevate Rapid City announced an $18 million expansion of the David Lust Accelerator Building. Governor Larry Rhoden highlighted the state’s commitment to building the infrastructure needed for a burgeoning national-security sector.
