Elon Musk slams Alex Gibney documentary as a boring hit piece

Elon Musk denounced the four-hour documentary about his life, calling director Alex Gibney a “bitter old man” with no integrity.

A documentary on Elon Musk debuted at the Venice Film Festival, drawing a short standing ovation before sparking a heated response from Musk on X. He described the nearly four-hour film as a “hit piece” and disparaged director Alex Gibney as a “bitter old man” lacking integrity, also calling the movie boring. The documentary features former partner Ashley St. Clair, who alleges Musk pursued young women as “breeders” and claims his team offered her $40 million for a non-disclosure agreement, a charge Musk denied.

Gibney said Musk refused to appear or assist with fact-checking, and at a press conference he suggested Musk’s behavior stems from a traumatic South African childhood. Film reviewers have lauded the work as a scathing portrait of the tech billionaire, and it is slated for limited theatrical release on October 16.
