Enes Kanter Freedom, a former NBA center, said on a recent broadcast that he aspires to be drafted by the Indiana Fever for the 2027 WNBA season, hoping to partner with rookie sensation Caitlin Clark in what he described as a "modern-day Shaq and Kobe" pairing. He boasted that he could become the best draft pick in league history and even break Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point record by dunking for equality. Freedom’s remarks come a day after he announced intentions to sue the Chicago Sky, alleging mistreatment after being ejected from a game against the Fever.

Over the past month, his declaration to enter the WNBA as a transgender player has sparked criticism, including insults from Sparks star Cameron Brink and former NBA guard Patrick Beverley, who dismissed his move as a stunt. The WNBA’s collective bargaining agreement does not define gender criteria, which Freedom cites as his eligibility basis.
