Enric Mas widened his overall advantage in La Vuelta's 12th stage, adding 27 seconds on rivals after a late attack and retaining the red jersey despite Omrzel winning the stage.
In stage 12 of La Vuelta, Enric Mas of Movistar Team launched a decisive attack with just over 10 km remaining, gaining 27 seconds on main challengers Primoz Roglic and Sepp Gall. Although Omrzel of Team Bahrain Victorious claimed the stage win, Mas's move secured his hold on the red jersey. Support from fellow Spaniard Raúl García helped maintain his momentum, and none of his closest rivals could respond.
