Environmental groups file lawsuit challenging EPA's rollback of power plant carbon limits

The Natural Resources Defense Council, American Lung Association, American Public Health Association, Clean Air Council, Clean Wisconsin and Environmental Defense Fund filed the case in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. They argue the EPA’s removal of the standards violates the Clean Air Act because it eliminated the limits without providing replacements. The lawsuit targets the administration’s decision to undo the Biden-era rules on carbon emissions from coal and gas-fired generators.
