Episode Two of The Gentlemen Season 2 Deepens Eddie Horniman’s Power Play

In a dream sequence, Mr. Johnston explains to Eddie Horniman why monarchs hold both a scepter and an orb, framing Eddie’s ambition as a unifying force. Determined to gain political clout, Eddie arranges a night with Lord Hawthorne’s lover Jack Glass and offers to eliminate an accountant for mafia boss Marco Moretti. The plans fall apart: Jack is distracted at a high-society party and Takashi, Moretti’s hired killer, refuses to stand down when the accountant’s family returns home.
Eddie and Geoff kill Takashi, then plant his corpse in Hawthorne’s bedroom to bargain for a seat in the House of Lords. Meanwhile, Susie entertains a cocaine-selling prospect but declines the venture, and her brother Freddy appears in a religious rehab run by the fanatical crimelord John the Gospel, hinting at a new threat to Eddie’s empire.
