Eric Heisserer joins Chris Yost as co-showrunner for Peacock's 'Dungeon Crawler Carl' series

Peacock announced that Eric Heisserer will co-lead the upcoming live-action adaptation of Matt Dinniman's 'Dungeon Crawler Carl' alongside writer Chris Yost.

Peacock revealed that Eric Heisserer, the former showrunner of 'Shadow and Bone', has been appointed co-showrunner of the live-action 'Dungeon Crawler Carl' series, partnering with writer Chris Yost. The duo will also executive produce the show together with Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins and Rachel Hargreaves-Heald, representing MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door production company. Matt Dinniman, author of the bestselling LitRPG novels, will serve as co-executive producer, and the adaptation is being handled by Universal Global Television.

Voice talent Jeff Hays, who narrates the audiobook series, will provide the voice for the talking cat Princess Donut. The series follows Carl, a Coast Guard veteran, navigating a post-apocalyptic game show with his ex-girlfriend's cat companion. Production details emphasize the blend of sci-fi horror and dark humor that defines the source material.
