Essex cricketer Robin Das faces two rape charges in London case
Robin Das, a 24-year-old player for Essex County Cricket Club, has been charged with two counts of rape and will appear in court in October.
Essex County Cricket Club announced that Robin Das, 24, has been charged with two counts of rape following his arrest on 27 August 2025. The alleged offence occurred on 30 March 2024 in Brixton, and the Metropolitan Police filed the charges on 23 July 2026. Das, who debuted for Essex in 2020 and has played 62 professional matches, will appear at the Inner London Crown Court on 9 October.
The club has suspended him and is working with the ECB, PCA and the Cricket Regulator as the case proceeds. Das has not played for Essex or his club side since the allegations surfaced. The victim continues to receive specialist support.
