Etihad Rail starts passenger trial runs linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai ahead of launch

Etihad Rail initiated passenger trial operations on the Abu Dhabi-Al Yalayis corridor as a prelude to the full service launch scheduled for Wednesday. The test route passes through Mohamed bin Zayed City before reaching Al Yalayis Station, the third railway hub in Dubai, which was completed ahead of schedule. The trials are evaluating station readiness, train performance, passenger comfort and integration with other transport modes, including a 400-metre bridge to the Dubai Metro’s Jumeirah Golf Estates station and the Red Line.

The service will offer ten daily trips between Abu Dhabi and Dubai and six daily trips from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, complementing the Abu Dhabi-Fujairah line opened on 30 June. Etihad Rail Mobility highlights that stations provide parking, taxis, buses and other links to serve diverse user groups such as seniors, families and tourists.
