EU energy commissioner warns of a severe winter power crunch
EU energy commissioner Dan Jørgensen said the bloc is bracing for a harsh winter and urged faster renewable deployment.
Speaking after a meeting of EU energy ministers in Dublin, Dan Jørgensen warned that the coming winter will be especially tough for the energy sector. He stressed the need to accelerate the shift away from fossil imports, expand renewable sources, boost electrification and improve efficiency. Despite the warning, he noted that the EU’s current supply remains stable.
