EU Parliament Delegation Reaffirms Jordan as Key Strategic Partner for Regional Stability

A European Parliament delegation traveling to Amman reaffirmed that Jordan is an indispensable strategic partner for the European Union, emphasizing joint efforts on regional security, humanitarian assistance and the pursuit of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. Talks focused on strengthening parliamentary exchanges, expanding cooperative initiatives and coordinating responses to geopolitical developments in the Middle East, including the fallout from recent Iranian attacks.

The delegation commended Jordan’s role in delivering aid to Gaza and the West Bank and its long-term hosting of Syrian refugees, while expressing explicit solidarity with the kingdom under security pressure. Delegates toured the Azraq refugee camp to assess conditions and observed an EU-funded wastewater management project in the Balqa governorate, underscoring the importance of collaboration on water scarcity and sustainable development.
