European intelligence warns Moscow may launch decisive strikes against NATO allies soon

Intelligence leaders from several European countries told reporters that Moscow is preparing to accelerate its hostile actions toward NATO, potentially within a few months rather than years. They highlighted Germany, Romania and Poland as probable initial victims, noting these states’ role in supplying weapons to Ukraine. Russian foreign-policy veteran Serghei Karaganov warned that Russia may expand its military operations beyond Ukraine’s borders, aiming at the eastern flank of the alliance.

Estonia’s premier Kristen Michal announced that the Baltic state is ready to shut its border with Russia quickly if a Russian mobilisation threatens Estonian security. The statements were made as the UN General Assembly convenes in New York and follow a major Ukrainian drone and missile barrage that struck multiple Russian regions.
