European public broadcasters pick up French tax documentary ahead of Arte launch
The Party Film Sales has signed deals with multiple European public broadcasters for the French documentary “Tax Me (If You Can!)” before its Arte France streaming debut.
At the Unifrance Rendez-Vous market in Le Havre, The Party Film Sales announced that public broadcasters RTVE in Spain, RTS in Switzerland, RTV in Slovenia and YLE in Finland have purchased rights to Thomas Lafarge’s documentary “Tax Me (If You Can!).” The film, produced by Little Big Story with Arte France and supported by Public Sénat and the CNC, will stream on arte.tv on Sept. 8 and air on the ARTE channel on Sept. 14.
Lafarge, who also co-directed earlier investigations on Amazon and BNP Paribas, explores how the ultra-rich have expanded their fortunes and the growing “tax the rich” campaign led by Gabriel Zucman. Sales co-head Estelle de Araujo said the swift broadcaster interest signals strong editorial demand for economic-policy topics despite funding challenges. The company plans to pursue additional deals in the Nordics, Japan, Portugal, Eastern Europe and other regions. The documentary aims to spark global conversation on inequality, wealth concentration and fair taxation.
