Exit poll shows Gibała and Piątkowska advancing to Krakow mayoral runoff
An exit poll released after the early Krakow mayoral election indicates that Łukasz Gibała and Monika Piątkowska are set to face each other in the second round.
Following a May referendum that ousted Aleksander Miszalski, Krakow held an early mayoral election overseen temporarily by Stanisław Kracik, the former deputy. The ballot originally listed eight names, but a vote for Jan Hoffman was invalid after his withdrawal, leaving seven candidates: Michał Drewnicki, Łukasz Gibała, Daria Gosek-Popiołek, Michał Klimek, Aleksandra Owca, Monika Piątkowska, and Sławomir Pietrzyk. Exit poll results released at 21:00 by two polling agencies show Łukasz Gibała and Monika Piątkowska emerging as the top two vote-getters, securing spots in the runoff. The remaining candidates received considerably fewer votes according to the same surveys.
