Extremist Manual Linked to Red Fort Car Bomb Plot Revealed in NIA Chargesheet

According to the NIA, a extremist booklet called the “Lone Mujahid Pocket Book/How to Become an Assassin” was part of a larger cache of radical material linked to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula. The manual allegedly detailed how to make explosives, handle weapons and conduct covert operations, including improvised explosive devices. The chargesheet names Umer Un Nabi, also known as Pinda and Rahul Bhat, as the operational head of a revived Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) module that re-emerged in early 2022 and operated in Jammu and Kashmir and the Delhi-NCR region.

Nabi is accused of radicalising recruits, circulating propaganda and planning the November 10, 2025 car bomb near Delhi’s Red Fort, which killed 11 people and injured 29. The vehicle was used as a VBIED, with DNA confirming Nabi’s presence inside; forensic tests detected TATP and ammonium nitrate. The group allegedly coordinated via encrypted messaging platforms such as Signal, arranging finances, illegal weapons and safe houses, and Nabi reportedly intended to travel to Afghanistan for “Hijrat.”
