EY pledges $100 million in bonuses for staff who excel in human skills

Ernst & Young announced a $100 million bonus pool to reward employees who demonstrate leadership, judgment, collaboration and adaptability.

Ernst & Young revealed plans to allocate $100 million in bonuses to employees who excel in human-centric competencies, including leadership, sound judgment, business insight, teamwork and adaptability. The firm also noted that embracing technology will be part of the evaluation, but emphasized that nurturing people skills is critical for success in a technology-led, human-powered world. Dante D'Egidio, EY Americas CEO and U.S. managing partner, described the investment as a reinforcement of the company’s strategy to develop the workforce of the future.

By rewarding these attributes, EY aims to draw talent capable of navigating the rapid and complex changes affecting the consulting sector. Economists have warned that AI could displace certain jobs while creating new roles, and that workers who fail to enhance productivity may be left behind. EY’s bonus program is positioned as a response to that challenge, encouraging staff to augment their capabilities alongside technological tools.

Why it matters

The bonus program signals how a major firm is prioritizing human skills amid AI-driven changes in the workplace.
