FAA panel clears Boeing 737 MAX software issue, paving way for MAX 10 approval

A Federal Aviation Administration expert panel concluded that a software glitch in certain 737 MAX flight computers does not threaten safety, allowing certification of the larger MAX 10 model to move forward.

The FAA announced that a group of specialists reviewed the software anomaly affecting some 737 MAX flight decks and found it poses no safety risk. Pilots retain full authority over the aircraft, and cockpit displays remain clear. This assessment removes the obstacle that had delayed the MAX 10's certification earlier in the week.

Why it matters

The decision removes a regulatory hurdle for Boeing's newest MAX model, affecting airline fleets and the aviation market.
