Fahmi Fadzil says cabinet will stay professional and ensure stability despite Najib pardon

In a podcast interview, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil expressed confidence that the MADANI Government’s cabinet will stay professional and uphold political stability until the administration’s term ends. He argued that recent events, such as the conditional pardon granted to former Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, have not strained ties between coalition components Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional, a factor he says is crucial for investors.

Fadzil highlighted the government’s near-four-year record of strong economic growth and asserted that party leaders are prepared to prioritize national interests over disputes. He described the pardon as a constitutional policy decision, not driven by revenge, and noted Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s repeated statements to that effect. While not ruling out future PH-BN alliances after the 16th General Election, he mentioned possible cooperation in the imminent Melaka state election, either through limited understandings or a solo run, acknowledging differing political dynamics across states.
