Fake GOP convention site redirects visitors to Justice Department Epstein archive
A website claiming to be the official page for the 2026 RNC midterm convention in Dallas sent users to a DOJ page containing Jeffrey Epstein files.
A web address styled as the 2026 RNC Midterm Convention portal, gopdallas2026.com, advertised details about the Republican gathering in Dallas before redirecting browsers to a Justice Department page that houses the Jeffrey Epstein files. The authentic convention website, gopconvention.com, still offers official schedules and speaker information for the two-day event featuring Donald Trump and JD Vance. Concurrently, the Institute for Primary Facts is staging a curated exhibit of the Epstein documents, including a "Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room," in Dallas from Tuesday through September 11.
Institute executive director David Garrett said the timing was intentional to intersect with the political conversation. The convention will focus on the GOP agenda ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
