Families of Jelapang-Ampang Crash Victims to Receive PERKESO LINDUNG 24 Jam Benefits
The next of kin of two 19-year-old crash victims in Ipoh are eligible for PERKESO’s LINDUNG 24 Jam dependants’ and funeral benefits.
Following a fatal collision on Jalan Jelapang-Ampang in Ipoh early on September 19, PERKESO announced that the dependants of Muhammad Izdihar Rafiq Sarajil Korin and Muhamad Faiz Danial Jumri are entitled to benefits under the LINDUNG 24 Jam scheme for non-occupational accidents. Both victims, aged 19, had recently begun contributing to the social security fund. Their families will receive monthly dependants’ payments of RM945 and RM891 respectively, with parents receiving lifelong support and siblings eligible until age 21 or degree completion, alongside a RM3,000 funeral management benefit each.
The accident, which occurred at about 3.35 am, killed three male motorcyclists and injured nine others aged between 19 and 25. PERKESO estimates that total periodic payouts over 15 years will exceed RM275,000.
