Family held hostage in Vendin-le-Vieil as thieves demand cryptocurrency
A man working in cryptocurrency, his partner and two children were bound and held at their home in Vendin-le-Vieil by four masked intruders who fled after stealing cash.
Police say four hooded and gloved individuals broke into a residence in Vendin-le-Vieil, restrained the father, his companion and their two kids, and tied them up. The attackers demanded digital assets from the father, who is employed in the crypto sector. After taking cash, the suspects escaped in a vehicle. The victims were released after more than three hours of captivity.
