Family of missing Bathurst woman urges police to release CCTV footage for forensic review

During a NSW parliamentary inquiry into unsolved murders and missing persons, Adam Vaughan and Kylie Spelde urged authorities to release the original CCTV recording of Janine Vaughan’s last known movements on December 7, 2001, in Bathurst, NSW. They argue that U.S. forensic analyst Bryan Neumeister, who has already reviewed a copy, could extract clearer details about the car she entered. The siblings recounted repeated police errors, such as the lead detective Bradley Hosemans later being treated as a suspect and providing a false alibi, as well as the unexplained destruction of two knives, one bearing blood and hair, before forensic testing.
They also called for a possible witness immunity offer to encourage information from reluctant sources. NSW Police have been offered a $1 million reward for tips, but have not yet commented on the request.
