Fan dies after emergency during Eintracht Braunschweig vs Dynamo Dresden match

A spectator collapsed during the second-division game between Eintracht Braunschweig and Dynamo Dresden and died on the way to hospital.

A medical emergency at the Eintracht Braunschweig stadium delayed the kickoff of the 2. Liga clash with Dynamo Dresden by 15 minutes. During the first half, a fan suffered a critical incident and was rushed to a hospital, where he later died.

The club’s social-media statement conveyed deep sympathy to the victim’s relatives and noted that football took a back seat in the tragedy. The match resumed after the halftime announcement, with supporters continuing to cheer. Emergency personnel had previously isolated the incident site using large white tarps and broadcast a stadium announcement that someone was battling for his life.
