Fashion CEO and Wife Fatally Shot Outside Home Overlooking UC Berkeley
Bryan Walker, 61, and his wife Michelle, 63, founders of the Bryn Walker fashion label, were found dead from gunshots outside their hillside residence near UC Berkeley.
Authorities were called to Panoramic Hill near UC Berkeley on Friday morning after hearing gunshots, and they found fashion entrepreneur Bryan Walker, 61, and his wife Michelle Walker, 63, dead outside their home. The pair ran Bryn Walker, a women’s clothing brand with stores in Berkeley and Massachusetts that markets luxurious, comfortable apparel. Surveillance video showed an initial shot at 10:43 a.m., a man's anguished cries, and a second shot before silence fell, a scene a neighbor described as shocking for the normally peaceful neighborhood.
Oakland Police Assistant Chief Casey Johnson said investigators have not excluded the possibility of a murder-suicide and that no suspect is currently being sought. One gun was located at the scene, and UC Berkeley police reassured students that there is no known threat to the campus.
