Fast Retailing posts 32% jump in annual operating profit
Fast Retailing, the parent of Uniqlo, reported a 32% rise in operating profit to 743.13 billion yen for the year ending August 31.
The Japanese apparel group announced that its operating profit reached 743.13 billion yen, up from 564.3 billion yen a year earlier. The increase exceeded the company’s own forecast of 730 billion yen and analyst expectations of about 726.45 billion yen. Growth overseas helped offset the impact of a weak yen in the domestic market. Fast Retailing also projected operating profit of 830 billion yen for the fiscal year ending August 2027.
Why it matters
The profit surge shows Uniqlo's resilience and growing global demand despite a weak yen.
