Father and daughter killed in workplace accident at Banagher Precast Concrete

Mihai Chinez, 49, and his daughter Denisa Mihaela Chinez, 24, both long-time employees of Banagher Precast Concrete, were killed in a workplace accident on Monday near midday while working on a concrete mould. Gardai and emergency crews responded at approximately 11.40 am, but the pair were declared dead at the site and their bodies taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore for post-mortem examinations. The company called the incident an unprecedented and devastating tragedy, expressing deep shock and offering condolences to the families, including Mihai’s wife, Denisa’s mother Angela, sister Lavinia Alexandra, and fiancé Liviu Blaj.

A joint funeral will be held at Banagher Community Centre, with a Mass at St. Rynagh’s Church. The firm pledged full cooperation with statutory investigations and reiterated its commitment to safety.
