FBI Director claims AI use has averted multiple school shooting attempts

In a recent interview, FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the agency’s growing reliance on artificial intelligence to prevent violent incidents, particularly school shootings. He referenced a specific case in North Carolina where an AI-generated tip led investigators to disrupt a planned attack, and noted that comparable successes have been recorded in about six additional states during his tenure. Patel asserted that AI, when used within legal bounds, is essential for sorting massive data streams and identifying credible threats.

He disclosed that the FBI’s AI usage has risen by 605 percent under his leadership.
