FBI links Iraqi suspect to foiled pro-Iranian bomb plot targeting Bank of America in Paris

French police stopped two teenage suspects attempting to detonate an improvised bomb outside the Bank of America headquarters in Paris, after the FBI identified an Iraqi national as the mastermind.

In the 8th arrondissement of Paris, police apprehended two minors as they attempted to ignite a powerful improvised explosive device placed before the Bank of America building. The youths reported being recruited by a go-between who paid them a few hundred euros, without realizing the act was classified as terrorism. French criminal investigators received information from their American counterparts that an Iraqi citizen, Mohammad A.-S., had been detained in Turkey and is suspected of directing the operation.

According to the FBI, the suspect has been linked to eighteen planned or executed attacks across Europe targeting American interests and sites connected to the Jewish community. Authorities view the scheme as a retaliation for the U.S. and Israeli offensive against Iran. The case underscores ongoing cooperation between French and U.S. security services in thwarting foreign-backed terrorism.
