FBI secures extradition of Honduran suspect in 2000 Philadelphia child murder

Honduran citizen Alexis Flores, wanted for the alleged 2000 rape and murder of 5-year-old Iriana DeJesus in Philadelphia, was extradited to the United States following his arrest by a Honduran anti-gang task force in February. FBI Director Kash Patel praised the operation as evidence that distance does not protect violent offenders from prosecution. Flores had previously been taken off the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list in March 2025 when Honduran authorities declined extradition under local law.

The agency noted that this case adds to a series of more than 70 extraditions carried out since June. Patel thanked international partners, the Department of Justice, and FBI teams for their role. The development follows the recent capture of another Most Wanted fugitive, Gregory Henderson Jr., in Indianapolis-related investigations.
