Feijóo and Sánchez hold separate rallies in Catalonia as PP targets region

On Sunday, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and People's Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo each took part in events across Catalonia. Feijóo addressed a crowd in Badalona, joined by mayor Xavier García Albiol and Catalan PP president Alejandro Fernández, presenting the rally as the kickoff of the party's municipal campaign in a city where the PP holds an absolute majority. Meanwhile, Sánchez attended the PSC's Fiesta de la Rosa in Gavá, accompanied by regional president Salvador Illa.

The PP highlighted the Badalona mobilisation as evidence of its strength nationwide and its priority focus on Catalonia ahead of upcoming elections. Party spokespeople contrasted Feijóo's street presence with Sánchez's role in the Socialist-led regional government, asserting confidence in the party's appeal across Spain. The event marks the first PP rally in a community governed by the Socialists, following similar launches in other regions earlier this month.
