Feijóo Calls for Two-Way Face-to-Face Debate and Four-Way Leaders’ Forum
Alberto Núñez Feijóo has asked for a direct debate with Pedro Sánchez and a four-party debate including all parliamentary parties.
Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the president of the Partido Popular and its candidate for the upcoming general election, has formally requested a direct, face-to-face debate with Pedro Sánchez. In the same statement, he urged the organization of a four-party debate that would bring together the leaders of all parliamentary groups, including PSOE, Vox and the parties that have succeeded the earlier Podemos-IU alliances. The PP indicated its willingness to take part in the Mediaset-hosted one-on-one discussion and to follow the same terms used in the 2023 campaign kickoff.
It also accepted Atresmedia’s proposal for a multi-party debate and said it would join the RTVE-suggested debate format. The party emphasized its intention to engage in any debate that occurs close to the election date.
