Félix Dolci clinches silver for Canada, missing gold by two-tenths at Commonwealth gymnastics
Canadian gymnast Félix Dolci took silver in the men’s all-around at the Commonwealth Games, finishing just 0.20 points behind Scotland’s Reuben Ward.
At the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Félix Dolci delivered a near-gold performance in the men’s gymnastics all-around, scoring 79.450 and securing the silver medal just two-tenths shy of Reuben Ward’s winning total of 79.650. Scotland’s Ward made history as the first home-grown champion in the event, while Australia’s Jesse Moore earned bronze with 79.000. Fellow Canadian gymnast William Emard finished eighth with 77.250.
In the pool, swimmers Ben Loewen qualified for the 200m backstroke final and Oliver Dawson moved into the 50m breaststroke semifinals, while para-swimmer Reid Maxwell advanced to the 100m backstroke S9 final. Weightlifter Antonin Lanoue placed fifth in the 60kg division, and Canadian athletes also progressed in boxing, wheelchair basketball and bowls throughout the day’s competitions.
