Fi recalls two dog supplements over possible salmonella contamination
Fi has initiated a recall of two canine supplement products after a potential salmonella contamination was identified in an ingredient supplied to its manufacturer.
Fi announced a voluntary recall of two dog supplement formulas after learning that an ingredient used by its contract manufacturer might be contaminated with salmonella. The affected items are the Fi Calming supplement for Dogs, lot number 26118, and the Fi 8-in-1 Formula supplement for Dogs, lot number 26159, each in 180-gram containers. Production at the manufacturing facility has been suspended pending a full investigation.
The recalled goods were distributed both through direct sales and online platforms Amazon and Chewy. Salmonella can infect dogs, causing symptoms such as lethargy, diarrhea, fever or vomiting, and can also be transmitted to people via handling or pet waste. Consumers who purchased the products should cease use, discard them, and consult a veterinarian if their pet shows any related illness; people experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms after contact should seek medical advice.
