In a coordinated operation, the Federal Investigation Agency captured Syed Inayatul Haq Shah, the North Punjab emir of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan, on multiple terror-financing charges tied to the party's October 2025 march. A senior FIA official described Shah as one of eight key funders apprehended by the agency's counter-terrorism wing across three cities. The investigation uncovered about 1,800 accounts allegedly used by Shah, relatives and co-accused to move money.
Financial analysis revealed cash withdrawals totaling Rs13.4 million from a madressah account on Oct 13-14, 2025, coinciding with the protest that progressed from Lahore to Muridke. The FIR notes that these transactions occurred in early October and suggests they were intended to support the mobilization. Shah and his father, Syed Ziaul Haq Shah, were given ample opportunity to explain the withdrawals but failed to attend the inquiry.
