FIFA to hold 2027 Women's World Cup draw at Rio's Museum of Modern Art

On Dec. 11, FIFA will conduct the draw for the 2027 Women’s World Cup at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a site that has also been used for events such as the 2024 G20 Summit. Jill Ellis, who serves as FIFA’s Chief Football Officer, remarked that football in Brazil is akin to an art form, likening passes to brushstrokes and goals to masterpieces. By the draw date, the majority of teams will have secured qualification, with CONCACAF’s qualifiers taking place from Nov. 27 to Dec. 5 and European qualifiers concluding around the same period.

Three remaining spots will be decided in an inter-confederation tournament scheduled for February 2027. FIFA released the full match calendar, confirming eight host cities each hosting at least seven games, allowing fans to plan travel after the draw reveals the schedule.
